Joe Schoen is asked about why he should be the man to lead the Giants moving forward: "Has it been perfect? No. But I'm very confident in my staff, myself, and our ability to get this franchise back to where it needs to go."
After a follow-up on the Giants' poor record recently...
"We do have a good, young quarterback that's on a rookie contract for the next four years...you have a good nucleus, you have a good left tackle, you have a wide receiver that had a historic year as a rookie, a good running back room, pass rushers, there's pieces in place...
I do have confidence in our ability and our process to find the next coach to lead the organization. I know we're going to get it right."
Colandrea was pretty good at UVA and Thomas had close to back to back 1K years.
You arenโt going to steal recruits, players, or coaches with Stein. Or with Hartline.
Hire someone who is going to give you an immediate impact.
As a Louisville fan Mullen would concern me the most
My 2 cents on the UK coaching search:
In todayโs CFB landscape I believe itโs more what can you bring in immediately than WHO you hire.
With that I think the obvious choice is Dan Mullen.
Obviously has SEC ties but hereโs what you could hope to bring in from UNLV (next post)
- Senior QB/RB duo of Colandrea and Thomas
- OC who was the QB coach for Fields, Stroud, & Haskins at Ohio St.
- DC with 21 years of coaching experience in the NFL
- 61st ranked recruiting class (UK currently 64th)
- 12th ranked offense (Oregon/Stein is 9th)
There's talk among Kentucky players that the successor to Mark Stoops could be former Raiders offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. https://t.co/FRe0lafQOx
