Barracuda maritime drones operated by Ukraine’s 40th Marine Brigade approach Russian positions and launched FPV drones from their decks during a special operation in Kherson region.

What makes the operation particularly notable is the use of multiple drones, each configured for a different role. One Barracuda was armed with unguided rockets, while another carried a retractable mast antenna designed to extend communications range for the FPV drones launched from the maritime platforms.

I found an old photo of Vassa with her dad and sent it to her. She thinks she was about 10 years old in this picture.

The photo was taken in their kitchen, where I spent a large part of my childhood. I returned to that kitchen every time I visited Kyiv. It was always a very special place for me.

It was a place of laughter and learning — “a sacred place,” as Vassa called it when we started talking about it.

Beyond conversations about art, Vassa’s dad — my friend and mentor — would tell us all kinds of historical facts and theories I had never heard before. It was from him that I first learned about the ancient Trypillia civilization and the idea that the Amazons were Ukrainian.

Now his daughter is a real-life Amazon. Despite her small stature, she has become a true warrior.
