The presentations and energy at the War, Medicine and Resistance Conference highlight one point : the deep interconnectedness of global policy and health systems.
Research only achieves its true purpose when it translates into direct policy action.
My presentation focused on the Somatic Frontline: how conflict in Nigeria has moved into the home, resulting in the wearing down of women’s health. I called on policymakers to look beyond traditional maps and integrate healthcare and social protections into peacebuilding.
The lesson for us is clear: these icons led Africa in their youth. In an era of regional crisis, we must embrace that same sense of responsibility and service to safeguard our shared prosperity and stability. (2/2) 🌍🇳🇬 #Leadership#ECOWAS#Diplomacy
At the Association of Retired Career Ambassadors of Nigeria (ARCAN) awards today. It was a privilege to watch H.E. @GEJonathan present honours to Gen. Yakubu Gowon & the representative of the late President Gnassingbé Eyadéma for their roles in founding ECOWAS. (1/2)
Is Nigeria’s only answer to tragedy a message of sympathy? My latest piece explores how 'condolence' has quietly become our unofficial security policy."

WEALTH DICKSON OMINABO: "Nigeria is becoming a symbol of sorrow and tears as citizens continue to live with violence. A trending video from Angwan Rukuba in Jos North captures this reality: a mother holding her lifeless son. In the clip, the woman tries to mumble a few words to the deceased, as if words might still matter. That video and other images from Angwan Rukuba after the Palm Sunday attack on March 29 are telling of the state of our nation."

What I call the mirage of extraversion is on full display in the Daniel Bwala Head to Head debate:
When legitimacy at home is weak, governments often chase approval abroad.
The Bwala conversation raises a key question:
Is international reputation management a sign of strategic competence, or a symptom of fragile domestic legitimacy?
Former President @GEJonathan & @DrPaulEnenche, Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, pictured together in Yenagoa. The Pastor visited the former President on Tuesday while in Bayelsa for his church’s crusade. A great moment of prayer and fellowship.
Sometimes success can break you in ways that you least imagined. It ruptures in us millions of emotions. It serves as a catharsis for all our struggles. There are moments when success becomes a paradox: a moment of joy, tears & pain.

Honored to meet Nobel Laureate Joseph Stiglitz at @SOAS Development and Leadership Dialogue. I've long followed his Project Syndicate columns. His work on inequality, institutions, economics and public policy has deeply shaped my thinking. Grateful for the exchange.

I was pleased to attend Lindsey Hilsum’s talk at Senate House, University of London. Her reflections from Ukraine, Syria, Sudan, were a reminder of how fragile peace is and our role as citizens, and in pushing for justice and holding power to account.
"We shouldn’t normalise authoritarian action and yield to being passive in the face of authoritarian waves. We have a duty to cast and bind such motives and actions, lest we lose our freedom, hope for justice which are the essence of democracy."

Let our conduct be defined by love, sacrifice, peace, and unity.
May we succeed and prosper in all spheres. Happy New Year.
