Iโve made a decision.
Instead of sitting around hoping things improve, Iโm going all in.
Iโm now working as a freelance chef, and my goal is simple:
Work every hour I possibly can until my ยฃ23,000 debt is gone.
Early mornings. Late nights. Weekends. I donโt care.
Every shift gets me one step closer to being debt-free.
A year from now, I want to look back and know the sacrifice was worth it.
Would you work 70โ80 hour weeks for a year if it meant becoming debt-free?
Mrs has gone back to work tonight after maternity leave, so itโs just me on dad duty.
Kids fed, bathed and both in bed by 7:30pm. ๐ช
Massive respect to all the parents who do this every day. Itโs not always easy, but weโll get it done.
Nowโฆ time for a brew before they decide one of them isnโt actually tired. ๐
I popped into a local Chinese today to see if they needed anyone to do food deliveries.
They offered me ยฃ7 an hour.
ยฃ7.
How is that even allowed in 2026?
With fuel, wear and tear on your car, insurance and everything else, I genuinely donโt understand how anyone can make that work.
Is this normal now, or was I just unlucky?

@dboyinvests Yeah mate I have drops twice a day and a gel every night before I go bed, brutal stuff mate but doesnโt stop me going about my business ๐ช๐ป๐ช๐ป
Some days are harder than others.
Iโve been having issues with my eyes lately, and it would be easy to make excuses or stay home. But Iโm still showing up.
Still getting up early.
Still working.
Still paying off debt.
Still trying to be a better dad, husband, and person than I was yesterday.
Progress isnโt about being perfect. Itโs about refusing to quit, even when things arenโt going your way. ๐ช
A small milestone, but one Iโm genuinely proud ofโฆ ๐
Iโve finally hit ยฃ2,000 in my Stocks ISA. ๐
The funny thing is, Iโm still paying off debt. Some people say I should wait before investing, but Iโm choosing to do both.
Every week Iโm reducing what I owe and building something for my future.
Slow progress is still progress. Onwards to ยฃ3,000. ๐ช #Investing #StocksISA #PersonalFinance #DebtFreeJourney
