I graduated into a recession (2009). My 1st job after college was aerial acrobat on cruise ships.
Today I'm a VP at a global company, own 3 rental properties, invest in stocks and biz, built my own business, and have ⬆️ my net worth by $500k in the last 4 years.
Here's how:
@australianwoma1 Thank you for this. I have been feeling this way for a while and not able to quite articulate it in the right way. I appreciate you giving me the language to better explain my own evolution. Beautiful writing.
My parents divorced when I was 2.
I thought one of my parents was super rich and one was struggling.
I couldn’t have been more wrong.
👉 FACT: Your earliest memories of money in childhood (and all the emotions associated them) are telling of how you handle money as adult.
“There are thousands of people in jails right this moment that are sitting there for no other reason than because they are too poor to get out.”

Financial independence will give you options, flexibility, security, freedom, and time.
It will not, in a vacuum, make you happy.
Money is a tool.
And when we use it well we can design the life we want and spend time with people with love.
And THAT, can bring us happiness.
More women in the US are single than ever before —and it comes at a cost.
In the Federal Reserve's 2019 survey of consumer finances, median net worth looks like this:
👉 married couples = $200k
👉 single men = $57k
👉 single women = $47k
Welcome to the gender wealth gap.
In this episode of Demystifying Money I am joined by Tess Waresmith, founder of @wealthwithtess to discuss how she grew her net worth over $500,000 over the past 4 years despite a few costly mistakes in her past. #personalfinance#investing https://t.co/HSt951PVrt
I’m alarmed at how many people spend 40+ hours a week grinding for money and then spend 0 hours a week learning how to make that money work for them.
If you’re not investing you’re leaving a shit ton of money on the table.
Start now.
These 3 things are NON-NEGOTIABLE boxes you need to check before you start investing:
1⃣Emergency fund of 3 - 6 months expenses
2⃣High interest debt paid off
3⃣Basic budget
It's not sexy.
But these foundational pieces are how you get you on the fast track to build real wealth.
1. No matter how much money you make, you can't grow your wealth if you can't live on less than you make.
Understanding how money comes in and out of your life is your first step to building wealth.
This is called your cash flow.
Think you don't deserve more money?
You DO NOT have to be a certain kind of person to be wealthy.
You are not your past.
When you have more money you will be better able to share your gifts with others.
And you have a lot to give.
Let's start building wealth together.
F U money and Ferrari's are fun and all, but that's not what I'm after.
I want enough $ to:
👉Travel to visit people I love whenever I want
👉Quit toxic jobs whenever I want
👉Book physical trainers
👉Hire therapists
And more...
That's what financial security is all about.
My financial journey hasn't been all sunshine...
👉I bought a financial product and lost $20k...
👉I invested in random stocks and lost money...
👉I bought a disaster rental property...
One thing I eventually did right?
I got a basic financial education.
Everything changed.
