Sharing between the Glasgow team and Indigenous team reveals that most people who came to the exhibition was shocked to see the unique art piece, and the story it tells. Most of them have never heard about Indigenous People of Peninsula Malaysia. Kak Hanim was beaming proudly !
Norifa speaks about why Indigenous women must reclaim their spaces, and voice out so they can seek justice, finance, and capacity building needed for them to thrive. Indigenous women are already community leaders, so why can't they be given the same chances in policy making ?
As the first Orang Asli to work in SUHAKAM, Azian experienced that Orang Asli is far knowledgeable in safeguarding the forest and ecosystems than the suggestions made by developers. Hence, their role in decision making must be centered ! Top down decision making must take heed !
