DAY 14: HOW TO GET YOUR FIRST WEB3 CLIENT 🧵
You have your skills.
You have your portfolio.
Now you need to turn them into your first opportunity.
Here’s how 👇
1. Stop waiting for job posts
Not every project will post:
“WE’RE HIRING.”
Some opportunities come from simply identifying a project that needs help and reaching out.
2. Find projects that need your skill
Look for projects with:
→ Inconsistent content
→ Low engagement
→ Weak community activity
→ Poor branding
→ Little educational content
→ Upcoming launches or campaigns
That’s where you can position yourself.
3. Find the right person
Look for the:
→ Founder
→ Marketing lead
→ Growth lead
→ Community manager
→ Social media lead
Message the person who can actually make a decision.
4. Don’t sell yourself. Sell the solution.
Instead of:
“Hi, I’m a social media manager. Do you have any jobs?”
Try:
“Hey [Name], I’ve been looking at [Project] and noticed [specific problem].
I work in [your skill], and I have a few ideas that could help improve [specific area].
I put together some examples here: [portfolio]
Would you be open to discussing how I could help?”
Specific > generic.
5. Give them a reason to reply
Before sending the DM, prepare something useful.
It could be:
→ 3 content ideas
→ A sample post
→ A mini content plan
→ A community growth idea
→ A design concept
Don’t do an entire campaign for free.
Just show that you understand the problem.
6. Follow up
If they don’t respond, don’t immediately give up.
Wait a few days and send a simple follow-up:
“Hey [Name], just following up on my previous message. I’d still love to explore how I could help with [specific area]. Let me know if you’re open to a quick chat.”
7. Don’t chase only big projects
Smaller or early-stage projects can also need:
→ Content writers
→ SMMs
→ Designers
→ Community managers
→ Growth contributors
Sometimes your first client comes from a project nobody else is paying attention to.
**Your first Web3 client doesn’t have to come from a job board.
Find a problem. Show your skill. Reach out to the right person.**
