TranscribeNC, our online transcription project, has been keeping us busy: https://t.co/AAlWucrnnj
If you missed our webinar on colonial court document transcription in July, you can watch the video for it online now: https://t.co/WLXYBCnV9L #AskAnArchivist
So a lot of folks at @NCArchives have spent time since March cleaning up data in DOC. You can read about some of that work on our records management blog: https://t.co/pVqFixr29x #AskAnArchivist
Let's see, what else have we been working on the last few months...
Data clean-up! It's not a sexy topic but it's necessary to enable folks to find materials in our collections. Our old system, MARS, had been around since 1985 and included a lot of old data. #AskAnArchivist
I've also started transcribing videos that currently don't have closed captioning in order to provide better accessibility to our video content. It's still early days, but here's one I transcribed last month: https://t.co/InyCWfQnHW #AskAnArchivist
Over the last few months we've been creating short videos. Here's one that we put online recently on how to navigate the NC Digital Collections, mainly focused on information for teachers but anyone may find it helpful: https://t.co/sdj9XzZ2rb #AskAnArchivist
It's part of a teacher playlist we've started: https://t.co/GYLKLYnpVW. We've got another video that should be available soon. Any topics you'd like to see us tackle? #AskAnArchivist
Let's see, I have a online meeting, some research to do related to a project we're working on, writing scripts for future online catalog tutorials, sending out updates on ongoing work, answering emails... #AskAnArchivist
Our second puzzle of the week is up on our blog. The image from our collections that we used is of Clingman's Dome in Swain County, NC. | Link: https://t.co/XvtktX4nVQ…/jigsaw-puzzle-2-clin…/
Blog series NC Stories of Service now has a podcast! Episode 1 features our Military Archivist Matthew Peek as he discusses the unique WWII archival and artifacts collections of William J. Ellis of Chatham County, NC. | Listen here https://t.co/R1ze9tGMd0
We miss sharing history in person with our visitors. Here are a few images of students and patrons discovering history at the Western Regional Archives! #ArchivesVirtualVisit#ArchivesHashtagParty
Not sure what to write to your #ArchivesPenPals? Find ideas in this WWII-era postcard from Fort Bragg with humorous stock phrases to choose from. But you’ll have to brush up on your historical slang - are you feeling “in the pink” or “punch-drunk” today?

#ArchivesPenPals can sign with a flourish. Our presidential signatures collection comes from NC governors' papers. This letter from George Washington to Samuel Johnston on 10-2-1789 discusses the Bill of Rights and joining the Union. What unique “John Hancocks” have you seen?
