@hvacnicky@agraybee It’s always been this way!!!!
Yeah that’s why our immigration process has like a 9 year wait.
I don’t understand how this isn’t common sense.
Labor didn’t make the phone.
Labor made the phone affordable.
Labor followed the directions of a fascist regime.
Capitalism breeds innovation but labor dictates the cost of the innovation.
@LycanFerret I’m anti ‘isms’ in general. Us English speakers need to get back to using the Germanic rooted words and less words with Latin roots.
We’ll keep abusing old words and creating newer, less useful words that make communicating more difficult and context dependent.
It’s funny that instead of embracing the nuanced problem of a baby being born into the care of illegal immigrants and how they could be deported at any moment, people want to simplify the interpretation of an amendment from hundreds of years ago.
MAKE IT MAKE SENSE…
Cross the border.
Have a baby.
Instant U.S. citizenship?
How did one of the world’s most valuable passports become something you get simply because of where you were born?
That’s a conversation we’re long overdue to have.
@JazzyJ87283918 I don’t think the majority want it gone, most just don’t want the right extended to children of illegal immigrants. Why is that unreasonable
@JN4Liberty I still haven’t gotten an answer today of why it logically makes sense that a child of an illegal immigrant has the same rights as a child of a legal migrant or US citizen
My most woke opinion:
Not only do I believe that anyone who wants to be American should be American, I believe that
anyone who wants to be American IS American. An illegal immigrant who traveled here because they want a better life for their family is exactly as American as I am.
I grew up with the assumed belief that birthright citizenship was one of the amazing distinctives that set our country apart from ethnic centered nations. I am surprised by the controversy.
It was meant to apply to LEGAL citizens just like the 2nd amendment applies to LEGAL firearms
No on in the country advocates for the possession of illegally purchased firearms lmfao
Nah were pretty much all in agreement that as long as you have atleast 1 legal parent you should be american.
Two illegal parents genuinely makes no sense at all.
Our Republic can withstand a few birth tourists. It can't withstand giving the president the power to decide who is a "real American" and to vanquish those he thinks are not.
Someone please answer me.
Why should the child of an illegal immigrant get the same guaranteed citizenship as a child of. LEGAL migrant.
I do not understand this.
The only real difference between the US vs every other country is we protect illegal immigrants children’s birthright.
This is very nonsensical imo which is my only complaint about this legislation.
still waiting on the argument agains that.
This also applies to tariffs. "But other countries use tariffs!" Yeah, so? They're lame. We're America. We're awesome. Why would we want to be like them and impose those costs on our own citizens?
Call me a Stalinist, but personally I think this is better and more helpful to the world than threatening to take away people's rights and bombing the middle east.
