Young Afghan girl: "If you're a woman and you have a toothache, you CANNOT get treated... Women are denied the right to education and cannot become dentists; and men are NOT allowed to treat women."
Why has Pakistan bombed Afghanistan?
Pakistan carried out multiple air strikes on Afghanistan at the weekend, killing at least 18 people.
These included women and children, according to the Taliban.
Let me explain.

The ideological bonds and camaraderie developed between the Afghan Taliban, the TTP, and half a dozen other jihadi extremist groups over the past 20+ years will not be easily broken at the behest of the Pakistani government. #PakistanAfghanistanWar

Hamza Ulfat, a Hazara activist from Afghanistan who supported women’s protests after the Taliban’s return, was jailed and tortured in Taliban custody. He died shortly after his release. Hazaras, mostly Shia, have faced historical discrimination in Afghanistan.
The real question is why is the @ICC not applying its own rules to #Afghanistan? Every other cricket playing nation is obliged to support the women’s game. Sport is politics, money, power — & misogyny. Time’s up. #BoycottAfghanistanCricket

A bleak reminder of the dire situation for Afghan women and girls. The latest Taliban crackdown? Reportedly suspending women from midwife and nurse training. This would effectively cut off a woman’s last route to further education in the country. It is a vital role as male medics are not allowed to treat a woman unless a male guardian is present. #LetAfghanGirlsLearn
