@oddtheweird The demands are absolutely insane, you’re asking one person or a small team of people to release quality artwork for both cheap AND in a short amount of time— you can’t have both.
Also I think slower-paced stuff is the way to go anyway, it fosters a greater community imo
Hot take but I get really annoyed when people find out a manga is a monthly release and then start saying how they could NEVER commit to waiting a month for a chapter release like it’s some ungodly amount of time. You can wait a few weeks for your story to update man..
Need a break. I’m also aware a lot of mangaka have assistants that help them with their work, but again, that’s still a lot of work to get done in such a short amount of time.
And don’t even get me started on webcomic artists doing weekly page uploads my word !!!
The manga and comic industry as a whole is super intensive and honestly a month to post a new chapter is still not enough time with the amount of detail that is added to one page alone, so it just feels super disingenuous to complain about a monthly release when those artists—
