Happy Pie Day! In 1991, Mount Vernon hosted a cherry pie contest for local museums, & the Weems-Botts Museum took 1st place! The display, inspired by Grant Wood's painting, awarded our museum bragging rights & a bust of Washington, which is still on display in the historic house.
