@SKinnock But if there is no GP appointment available for 16 weeks, the alternative for some conditions has to be A&E (especially if one is working). Nobody can sit at home for 16 weeks waiting for, say, a course of antibiotics for an infection.

@SKinnock @rcgp Out of interest, when ordering repeat prescription, I checked out the online system at my surgery in case I should need it. I went for any doctor + any appointment. I could have an appointment in 16 weeks apparently.

That was only disturbing in light of my being registered at this surgery for 25 years.
(I haven’t ever had a stroke, no, but I assume there’d be something in my records about it if I had?)

@MichaelRosenYes Maybe the point is that they won’t be cheap lessons. EFL classes in FE came with a big price tag (relatively) but if you HAVE to learn you pay. But where will all those teachers come from - the ones that were made redundant after 2010 and have bitter memories? (I know of this).
