Ultimately customers buy tickets and expect to travel as planned - too often that isn't the case. Customers don't, and shouldn't have to, care about this bureaucratic complexity when they're paying so much.

@chg3899 @NetworkRailSE @TLRailUK I have had multiple journey's take 3-4 times the estimated time. I am consistently delayed. I usually have to travel 2 or 3 trains before the one I actually need to take account of this. I have had many instances where travel has been impossible.

Why do you think that's ok?

So not operating for profit, but definitely not operating well and stripped to a minimum, reactive repairs rather than proactive maintenance.
