On November 16th, Multnomah County opened the first two floors of the Behavioral Health Resource Center in downtown Portland. We are hopeful that our government chooses to invest in projects like the this, rather than expensive, short-term strategies.

This summer, a program called Move-In Multnomah transitioned 214 people into housing in 4 months! This is an example of creative ways tax dollars are creating housing opportunities. We must prioritize funding innovative solutions that actually work!

Molly Hogan of @WelcomeHomeOrg dropping the truth! It costs $51k a year to JUST jail someone (if they don’t go to these camps)… and $20k less to put someone in a private market housing with services for that same year. That $51k doesn’t even count sweeps costs, cleanup, etc.
The City Council will be hearing testimony on October 26th at 2 pm
