"Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the earth befalls the sons of the earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves.
This we know: the earth does not belong to man - man belongs to the earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood that unites one's family. All things are connected."

Some believe that grass dancing came from young boys tying grass on their outfits. Before a dance could be held on the prairie the grass had to be stomped down. MMIW Awareness:
The missing and murdered Indigenous women (MMIW) epidemic affects Indigenous peoples in Canada and the United States. It has been described as a Canadian national crisis and a Canadian genocide. Indigenous women or girls are at least 3 times more likely to experience violence, and at least 6 times more likely to be murdered than any other woman or girl in Canada. A National action plan, including domestic violence resources, a national public inquiry, including ensuring government and police accountability and regular comprehensive collection of data is needed for change.
