🚨🚜 This year, on Canada's Road Safety Week, when you encounter farm equipment on the roadways, it's important to:
Slow down early: Closing speeds are faster than they appear, so reduce speed as soon as you spot farm equipment.
Watch for signals: Farm equipment may need extra space to turn or swing wide.
Only pass when it is legal, safe, and you have a clear line of sight.
Be patient and respectful. Let's all work together so everyone gets home safely.

🌾 Municipal councils make important decisions that shape the future of #ontag communities, including many issues that directly impact agriculture.
This October’s municipal elections are an opportunity for more farmers and rural leaders to step forward and bring their voices to the council table. Municipal government works best when it reflects the communities it serves. That means ensuring rural and agricultural perspectives play a meaningful role in the decisions that matter most 🚜

Who sits at the council table matters — and farmers need a seat.
Municipal decisions directly impact farmland protection, infrastructure, and the future of rural communities. But as fewer elected officials have firsthand farming experience, agriculture risks being overlooked.
That’s why it’s critical for farmers to stay engaged whether by building relationships with local leaders, participating in consultations, or stepping into municipal roles themselves. Strong representation ensures informed decisions that support Ontario’s agri-food sector and rural economy.
