Ireland is a full @ICC test playing nation. Scotland is now pushing for test status. Jersey, Guernsey & Isle of Man have teams too. We have to now have a cricket #TeamForWales https://t.co/mqqxkxUXzt
It took Afghanistan 15 years to get ICC status. It’s been 15 years since Welsh representation in the ‘England and Wales’ team. Time for change!
RT if you agree!
“I thought it was the England and WALES cricket team!?” 🏴 🏴
“How come it only says England in the fixtures!” 🤨
“Why’s it just an England flag on the TV!? It should be half a dragon, leek or a sheep!” 👀
Dean Saunders isn’t happy with the Welsh representation at #CWC19 😂
The account hopes to Promote the best of Welsh Cricket whilst Provoking discussions for the future!
It's about developing players and coaches at a domestic level
But also growing a national team that can compete with the likes of Scotland 🏴, Ireland 🇮🇪 and the Netherlands 🇳🇱
@WelshCricket@RhunapIorwerth What is wrong with @fmwales ? Why is he so against a Welsh cricket team? Carwyn. It’s simple bach. We don’t want to support England IN Wales. We want to support Wales IN Wales AND overseas. Just like every other national cricket team in the world. Got it? 🏏 🏴
@rosspow10 Each to their own. If you'd rather support England than Wales you can keep doing that after we have the team. England will look exactly the same.
@WelshCricket@RhunapIorwerth There is actually a tear in my eye seeing the #TEAMforWales campaign getting debated in the Assembly. The ball is finally in play. Please keep up the pressure. The country needs this to happen. Wales is not part of England.
Great job @RhunapIorwerth . Pity about the response. Even Iceland now has a national cricket team. Why can't we? @icelandcricket https://t.co/fOFRZ3ZyxR
Passionate speech from @RhunapIorwerth calling for a national cricket #TeamForWales. Disappointing response from the First Minister, who is preventing Welsh people from representing their country #WeAreWales#WeWantWales
The Welsh First Minister just failed to support my calls for a study to explore setting up a cricket #TeamForWales. It seems #WeAreEngland while Labour are in charge. He wouldn't even look into it. Couldn't survive? We could thrive. Let me tell him #WeAreWales
If only Ireland and Scotland didn't have teams. Their players and fans could just stay at home like Welsh cricketers then. Probably not much to see in the Netherlands anyway. Better off in Northamptonshire. https://t.co/Y6iTkVVi7a
I am loving the growing momentum that is behind making a National Cricket for Wales and the false justification that @GlamCricket roll out to protect themselves against what our country wants and needs. The people want a #TEAMforWales@WelshCricket@Kasuutta
@ColinLocke73@alanwilkins22@Huw_Bevan@WelshCricket ...to be replaced by a national team. Out of interest, COULD you support a Welsh cricket team in the future, given that all financial questions were answered?
@YesAberystwyth@WelshCricket@YesCymru Not that I know of, but for the campaign to succeed something fairly hard-headed needed that sets out the possibility of a bright future. Give £s spent by the WGov on certain things, a bridging arrangement surely could be possible to create a Welsh team that sustains Glammy too?
Some of the responses to the recent discussion about a Welsh Cricket team pretty well summarise the self-loathing, risk averse, sycophantic, unimaginative nature that I sometimes hate about Wales. "We might lose", "We rely on English money", "we're too small" etc. FFS!
@bethanjenkins My 10 year old son is in his second year of playing county cricket for @CardiffValeCric and as a Welsh boy through and through, he would love the opportunity to aspire to play for Wales at a senior level. Wales have junior teams, so why not at first class level? 🏏🏏
