The only known film clip of Clara Bow in color - all that exists of the lost film "Red Hair" (1928). Just a single scene in early Techicolor, and so easy to see her personality and beauty shine through. Are you a fan of the fabulous Clara?
First color test by Brazilian TV station TV Tupi in 1963 (music added). Due to time constraints, they developed an experimental color test by painting directly into the film! 📺 🎨
A really beautifully lit Autochrome from 1910, entitled "Female Nude Leaning on Her Elbow", which capitalises on the Autochrome's great strength at capturing red light. I have cleaned and enhanced this stunning image by French photographer Gustave Gain, which utilises an early colour glass-plate process to capture genuine colour from 116 years ago. It is not colourised.
"King of Jazz" (1930) filmed in early Techicolor, featuring the Russell Markert Dancers, who went on to become the famous Rockettes in 1932 when they moved to Radio City Music Hall.

Our city has a duty not just to honor this legacy, but to live up to it. I will always fight for a New York City that invests in our LGBTQ+ community, defends their dignity, and protects every one of our neighbors—without exception.
