It is very sad to hear that. Maggie is a wonderful dog and her digital twin helped us a lot in our work. Her contributions have been remarked by a dozen of publications. RIP.
We are sad to announce that Maggie, our research assistant, has passed away at the grand old age of seventeen.
Maggie worked with researchers @CAMERA_Bath to capture RGBD images which have been used to track the motion of dogs using a single camera: https://t.co/sZanmsDOlU
Amazing 3D reconstruction and view synthesis from NeRF, now with an implicit deformation field that can cope with a little bit of non-rigidity. Really impressive depth maps and matting results.
“Nature shows us that there is still a lot of room for improvement,” says Prof. Daniela Rus, director of MIT CSAIL. “Therefore, our goal was to massively reduce complexity and develop a new kind neural network architecture.”
