@rte@RTEOne@RTEplayer I am actually furious after watching this programme!!! Totally irresponsible and a total lack of knowledge on the "illness" that is Long Covid. Both the NICE Guidelines in the UK and the WHO Guidelines internationally recognise exercise as detrimental to a patients recovery.
"The doctors don't know how to fix it. They can only treat the symptoms."
@barrycummins12 heard from people who are still suffering with Long Covid years after being contracting the virus | #rtept | Read more: https://t.co/6pKM7rfjP3
We are now at the TWO and a HALF year mark since those of us who caught Covid in the first wave have been suffering with Long Covid symptoms.
So how are we getting on? To find out - here's my 6 monthly update symptom/recovery survey.

New film alert! Even if you’ve watched my previous work on dysautonomia, this is a must see.
Dr Lim is awesome, and I think there’s something that *everyone* with LC can take out of this, even if it’s just a reminder how important certain practice is.

Study finds 67% of individuals with #LongCovid are developing dysautonomia, POTS being the most prevalent diagnosis
Pre-existing autoimmunity and asthma were far higher in those with #LongCovid than in the general population

@DonnellyStephen @stjamesdublin 3/ And here in Ireland we are waisting Precious Time and Resources carring out Research on "Exercise" as a for of treating Long Covid!!!!!
You just couldn't make it up 🙈🙈🙈🙈
@DonnellyStephen @stjamesdublin So let me get this right:
1/ NICE Guidelines in the UK have recently updated their practice to REMOVE exercise as a treatment in Long Covid due to its "proven" risk of Post Exertional Malaise for Patients.
@DonnellyStephen @stjamesdublin 2/ The UK and other European Countries are hard at work Researching Physiological changes that occur as a result of Covid Infection to result in Ling Covid so they can better understand what is causing it and how to implement appropriate Treatment.
@gezmedinger@longcovidirl 1/ Low dose Bisoprolol
2/ Azithromycin x3 days/week for anti-inflammatory properties
3/ Slower Pace of Life than previous and less stress
4/ Yoga
Great to see 'Preparatory' lists instead of waiting lists being discussed at the #AICIC22#integratedcare Conference, very relevant to our Interdisciplinary Prehabilitation Pilot service for Elective bowel surgery in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital Drogheda @IFICInfo@ClaireTreanor4
@Dr2NisreenAlwan 24 Months of "Living with Long Covid" = Betablocker medication to control high heart rate and Azithromycin for systemic inflammation and overactive immune system!!!
Unable to exercise which i loved to do prior to Covid.
Just about managing my workload as a nurse.
Now reinfected!
