Siya will be holding this little girl’s - Isabella - hand for the singing of the anthem on the field today. @ReachForADream does the most phenomenal work. I’m not crying 😭
@GuguStatu What an adventure for @SAGuide_Dogs Public Relations Officer, Pieter van Niekerk & his guide dog O'Shea, who flew from Jhb at 6pm Sun & arrived in CT at 5am Monday, & then went straight into a day of training clients. Diverted to PE due to runway lights malfunction.
@LA_JANSEN@FlySafair All flights diverted ... waiting for a friend who has a Guide Dog travelling with him 🐾🫣, currently sitting at PE airport where they were diverted to. ACSA CT doing a great job of keeping us updated with announcements.
We all feel the cold in Cape Town. Imagine those people who do not have a warm bed or house to go to. Help a person by buying a bed for them. You can buy a bed for one person at a shelter for R75 for five days. Please do assist if you can.

@bonglez Very busy voting station in WCape, don't think they factored the growth in numbers for our neighborhood (semigration?). Mood was calm, even subdued during the 3 hour wait. Frustrating to hear other stations close by were very quiet, would have been helpful to spread the load.
Just one more time.
I get hundreds of messages. All day. On all the socials. I try to answer everyone. It’s not always possible but I do try.
I have a team that helps me with emails, but I feel like my socials are incredibly personal… like, you’ve taken the time to send me a personal message, so that’s a “me” job. To answer every message personally.
This week has been crazy-amazing busy. I got off the cruise and hit the ground running. I have 2 Keynotes (talks) this week, a massive MC gig, and 3 events thrown in there (plus emails, meetings, and everything else that comes with running a business).
So this morning I woke up at 4am to answer all the messages I received yesterday. There were around 250 across all my socials. Some were funny, asking me where the rest of the photos from the cruise were. Some were of people in need - there is a constant stream of messages from people in need. We’ve gotten pretty good (at Good Things Guy) with connecting people to the right help. Some could have used Google for their questions but I guess they wanted to have a conversation with someone, so I really don’t mind it. I’m here to chat.
But yesterday, there were a bucketload of very similar messages.
Messages with great importance for all of us.
I counted 47. Of people who wanted to stay anonymous but wanted to share how deeply my post resonated with them yesterday. That post about “just one more time”. They were so vulnerable, sharing stories of how they had tried to take their own lives, how they had thought about it, how they had lost hope, and how one thing had pulled them back.
How they had decided to give it “just one more go”.
Not gonna lie. I’ve been crying most of the morning. You know me friends, I’m a cryer. But this goes deeper than just tears.
I need you to read this for comprehension: Every single person is hanging on by a thin-thin thread. Everyone you encounter is fighting the biggest monsters that they are just not telling anyone about. And they are doing it all alone. How incredibly heartbreaking!?
Do you remember the REM music video to “Everybody Hurts” or that scene in “City of Angels” where we got a glimpse into what people were thinking? Do you remember how sad it was? How everyone was just dealing with the most?
Well, that’s cause people are. All the time.
A stark reminder to be kinder to everyone. That’s what our focus should be. Our only focus. To be kinder. Even to “that” kak human. They may actually need it more than most.
So let’s make a deal: Even though we cannot be responsible for someone else’s feelings, perspective on life, or self-esteem, we cannot contribute to their struggle. We rise by lifting each other. We rise by helping people give it one more go. We rise by being kinder than necessary or needed.
We need to help people to give it just one more time.
Yes, that’s what we need to do.
Okay. Love you. Bye.
@RoryPetzer Was running a race at that time, passing apartments in Camps Bay, where screams and shouts of joy rung out ... everyone running joined in, yelled, "Dricus for the win"!!! 🇿🇦
