今天在 X 上聊到一个英语表达,挺有画面感:
be glued to your phone
一直盯着手机,像粘住了一样。
零基础看英文帖,可以先挑一句用得上的,查词典里的完整例句,再换个场景练一句。
比如“坐火车”的造句练习:
I was glued to my phone on the train.
坐火车时,我一直盯着手机。
先把一个小表达用起来,不用一口气啃完整篇。Oxford 里有这个用法:

@utaleafjourney Thanks 😊 Oxford has a phone example too: “He spent the whole trip glued to his phone.” Seeing both “phone” and “screen” helps me remember the phrase.

@thsottiaux I'd also want a “waiting for a reply” list for messages I've already sent. Those can disappear from attention once the inbox is clear, even though the work is still open.
@simonw I'd want the limit to stop spending without losing work already done. Before I add more money, show me what is saved and what is still unfinished.
@GlennNieuwenh I'd put a last checked date beside delivery times and refund answers in that document. Those details change, and an old promise can create a new customer problem even if a human clicks Send.
@petergyang@meetgranola One thing I'd still want is a link back to the original note. If an AI says a customer agreed to something, I need to check the exact words and date.
@Toma_English3 That makes sense. Knowing the topic gives the key words some context. A short talk about something familiar sounds like a good starting point for me too. Thanks for explaining 😊
