@OrwellNGoode the weird thing is how the tech model of mass production and scale turns something as absurdly simple as a solar powered camera into a billion dollar idea
@krisvancleave@Dulles_Airport YES! that's the spirit!!! finally someone with common sense and appreciation for beauty. the mobile lounges are totally UNIQUE in the world and the closest thing to them are the AT-AT WALKERS! #mobileloungesforever
@MarkL58073@olivialarinaldi It is utterly unique. TWO entrances (or is it four if including both ends), which shall I choose? WHERE ELSE is this a thing? The protruding driver's booth thing. The groaning hydraulics. That characteristic sharp smell from all the leather seats.
@MarkL58073@olivialarinaldi I simply disagree. They are an integral part of the Dulles experience, like mosquitoes in summer. You wait. The lounge docks, and the driver or pilot steps out of his futuristic control booth and unfolds the connecting planks. Then you walk aboard like stepping onto a spaceship.
@arrroberts@arrroberts I just thought there is a metrical and thematic resemblance between
"by help of Windes, of Current, and of Tide
Is wafted over to the further side"
and
"The river Weser, deep and wide,
Washes its wall on the southern side"
@MarkL58073@olivialarinaldi they are amazing! like little versions of the main terminal on wheels... like how Frank Lloyd Wright designed matching furniture
