#ICHD3Matters
Headache attributed to reversible cerebral vasoconstriction syndrome (RCVS) typically presents as recurrent thunderclap headaches, and the attacks are often triggered by sexual activity, exertion, Valsalva manoeuvres, or strong emotions.
⚠️ Headache may remain the only symptom, but it can also be a warning sign preceding haemorrhagic or ischaemic stroke.

🧠 #ThrowbackThursday
Nearly 2 millennia ago, the Greek physician Aretaeus of Cappadocia proposed one of the earliest classifications of headaches.
He described three types: heterocrania, resembling migraine with unilateral pain and symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, photophobia, phonophobia, and olfactory changes; cephalalgia, a milder headache; and cephalaea, a more persistent headache resembling tension-type headache.
These early descriptions highlight how careful clinical observation long preceded modern diagnostic tools.

Do you clearly remember the exact day your headache began?
🧠 A hallmark feature of New Daily Persistent Headache (NDPH) is its distinct and clearly remembered onset. The headache begins on a specific day, becomes continuous within 24 hours, and persists daily thereafter. Many patients can recall the precise date it started.

@ihs_official If I could travel back in time, I’d be in the lab when #CGRP was first identified. 🧠✨ It was the "Big Bang" for modern migraine treatment and the reason my patients finally have targeted therapies today. A true paradigm shift! #HeadacheHistory#Neurology#Migraine
