Announcing I Am Not A Tourist, a fierce and moving exploration of British Chinese identity and a rallying cry against East and Southeast Asian racism by @daisyhunguk

Brilliant, blazing, beautiful Benjamin Zephaniah. That glorious mind. How brutally unfair. He should have had years more. Years. Go well across the shining river. Go well.
One reason “get to work” policies are so cruel for disabled people is that losing their career was devastating. Sitting on the sofa is nice for a weekend but less so if you’re doing it for thirty years and in pain. Being told you “don’t want it enough” is psychologically brutal.
Struggling with supporting characters in your screenwriting?
Ask yourself:
• Who believes in the protagonist?
• Who doesn't?
• Who pushes them to be better?
• Who tempts them to be worse?
• Who guides them?
• Who detours them?
Let the story dictate the relationships.
I struggled with Act 2 for years. It was the barren desert where my screenplays went to die.
What changed for me was realizing the role of Act 2 in the story.
Embracing this was a huge breakthrough in my screenwriting.
Here is how I attack Act 2 now: 🧵👇

Wow: all 750,000 Germans turning 18 this year get 200 euro to spend on any cultural good: concerts, theater, movies, musical instruments, books, records etc. It'll cost 100 million euro and is given in recognition of what young people lost during pandemic.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tina Turner. With her music and boundless passion for life, she enchanted fans worldwide and inspired future stars. We say goodbye to a dear friend who leaves us her greatest work; her music. Tina, we will miss you dearly.
Tina Turner was raw. She was powerful. She was unstoppable. And she was unapologetically herself—speaking and singing her truth through joy and pain; triumph and tragedy. Today we join fans around the world in honoring the Queen of Rock and Roll, and a star whose light will never fade.
"It’s as if we’ve been forced to accept that this is just how society works: A handful of people hold the power and the money while the rest of us live paycheck to paycheck," Jeanie Bergen in @TheCut https://t.co/PPHU5k3cEx #WGAstrong#WGAstrike
