@MNRManspreading@MattDoyle76 Yeah, it was sarcastic... to be fair, yes knockout tournaments are definitely 'unbalanced.' But they're the only way to compare multiple conferences/ leagues against each other, if @MattDoyle76 wants to proclaim one team the best. You have to let the pools play against each other
@MNRManspreading@MattDoyle76 The point is--when you want to decide who is the best team between two pools, you don't choose the team that scored more points in those separate pools.
@MattDoyle76 Exactly, the way the UCL is unbalanced. Everyone knows the true best team in Europe is the team with the most points from their regular season, across all leagues.
@andrew_wiebe@Extratime Why don't we panic over LAFC's fall from 2019 the way we did ATL's fall from 2018? Is it simply that we place more trust in a team that maintains one coach, even after the results drop off?
@PaulTenorio@samstejskal@AllocationDsrdr Side question: is it just that people are quicker to criticize Atlanta's coaching failures, whereas it is easier to put faith in Bob Bradley, and in the perceived stability of maintaining one manager?
@PaulTenorio@samstejskal@AllocationDsrdr Atlanta's poor roster-building has been well documented, ever since their 2018 MLS Cup victory. But comparatively, how do you rate the roster decisions LAFC has made since winning the Shield in 2019? Esp. since ATL made a major sale with Almiron, vs. LAFC's lesser sales.
