@MastercardNews so how do you guys decide what a "lawful purchase" is? do you just go purely off of vibes? do you spin a fucking wheel? perfectly legal content is being censored and hidden because of your draconian bullshit, and gaslighting us about it isn't going to work
I don’t get why the government is pushing to censor the internet “for the sake of protecting children” when parental controls already exist on most devices and networks. It feels like an excuse to regulate what the public can access rather than a genuine effort to protect kids.
I’ve spent 10 years in the tech industry.
Anybody who thinks the Online Safety Act is protecting children is utterly delusional and frankly, they are technologically illiterate and unqualified to have an opinion on this matter.
I'm a parent
This isn't about protecting my kid.
This is about you controlling what I can and can not see or do on the Internet.
This is about data mining me and every other adult
I can protect my own kid from the Internet. I do not need your help.
Resign.
The UK Government has responded to the petition with nearly 400,000 signatures to repeal the Online Safety Act.
They have no plans to repeal the online safety act
