Yesterday, our students participated in an oyster bagging event with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation as part of their Oyster Reclamation Project. We bagged 115 bags which is about 316,000 oysters. Those oysters will filter about 15.8 million gallons of water together!

Wesleyan Engaged and Marlins Go Green are partnering with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to host an Oyster Reclamation Event on VWU's campus as part of Earth Week Celebrations!

On November 15th, Wesleyan Engaged partnered with the Chesapeake Bay Foundation to host an event. Many students helped bag recycled empty shells to be used to grow baby oysters in the spring. 152 bags were made which equivalates to about 418,000 oysters that will filter the Bay!

The winner of the Foodbank Donation Drive is the VWU Track and Field Team! The Foodbank and Wesleyan Engaged thank all VWU Athletic Departments for their donations.

Totals are:
•4766 lbs non-perishable items
•5096 non-perishable items donated
•3972 meals provided

We are now collecting donations to help the needs of those in the Help and Emergency Response(H.E.R.) Shelter. The H.E.R Shelter helps victims of domestic violence have a safe place to stay.
