Thursday saw a newly kitted and reunited toastie side scrape a 6-1 victory over a threatening @SalahTikka side. Goals delivered by Fc Monkey (4), Oscar and Hairy. Upwards and onwards for the Ham and Cheese.
MATCH REPORT(1)Big win for the sarnies tonight against The Quarrymen. A good start seen us 3-0 up inside 10 minutes thanks to a Joe Menear double and Jambo, however the Quarry pulled one back just before half time. The boys started the second half brightly and made it 4-1 thanks
(2) to a well worked corner routine between Jalex, Jambo and Oscar slotting it in with his left foot. The Quarry then swiftly pulled two back but the lads heroically held on thanks to Luke Corbett making some worldie saves. Good win for the Sarnies sending us top of the league.
Our LF F.C. Monkey, broadly known as Felix Robson, Is not to be overlooked by any defender willing to live on planet earth. Whilst the record breaker card design represents his record breaking number of injuries, A fully fit Monkey is a force to be reckoned with on the pitch.
Joe Menear, the safe legs in between the sticks for the Toasties. Not your conventional style, a bit orthodox. But he has saved us many a time (mostly with his knees). He does the job, realised by Lewis Patsalos.
Jamie Alexander or Jalex. A club legend, was once an unprolific striker but has recently found success adopting to a Jonjo Shelvey type player. He pulls the strings in the midfield and possesses a physical presence that would strike fear into any man.
Greek Mythologists have evidence to suggest only an eruptive combination of Zeus and Poseidon can produce anything close to our CF, Jambo Steele. Whilst holding the defensive ability of a wooden gate, the attacking presence of the milky bar kid is simply like no other.
Owen Herworth also goes by the alias of Hairy Herwy. Very poor attendance but when he does decide to rock up, a hugely important player for the Toasties. The top scorer despite playing the least. Enough said.
