Providing low level support for those who served in the military, police and prison service.
A simple effective approach to address the issues of our colleagues
I was deeply moved visiting the Omagh Memorial on Tuesday, remembering the 1998 bombing that took 29 innocent lives and injured hundreds more.
We heard first-hand from Richard Scott, a former RUC officer who was there on the day of the bombing and now runs the charity MAPS.
@SimonHarrisTD MR Harris as you sit there today cast a thought for the people of Omagh and the bodies I lifted. You demand Justice here and yet your jurisdiction will not provide answers.
I will welcome you to come and learn what was brought to us from your jurisdiction.
Exciting news for MAPS as securing a @TNLUK Sustainable Community Buildings grant of £50k. The funding will drive crucial energy-saving enhancements in the next year, leading to a significant reduction of 5,269 Kg/CO2 in carbon emissions and cost savings up to £3,534.31 annually.
Since 1st April 211 members out of 989 engaged with in MAPS.

'Serving those that Served.'
Yesterday NI Veterans Commissioner David Johnstone visited MAPS West Tyrone to learn about their vital work supporting veterans & police officers.
Having started his career in Omagh the visit was personal, as he even spotted old comrades in photos! Thank you for the warm welcome.
The Omagh Bomb Inquiry will recommence soon for impact statements. Omagh PSG will be representing police colleagues. Below is a Sunday Times extract.
We have represented and supported our colleagues. The coming weeks will be another painful reminder.

After a successful year in MAPS, we wish you all a Merry Christmas.
We will still be open for a few hours over Christmas for those who need to call in.
We look forward to what 2025 brings us. With the help of our partners, we will help as many as we can.
So pleased when MAPS became the NI Veterans Group of the Year last week.
Fantastic for our volunteers and those we support.
Even got Charlie to join in!

Presented a cheque for £1550 to Brooke House. A total of £2681 raised so police colleagues can avail of the best mental health care. The page is open until we can secure proper funding. Thank you all for your generosity.

Gobsmacked to learn last night that MAPS has been shortlisted in 2 categories of this year's @VetsAwardsNi
I do not know who nominated us but it is fantastic news especially as we appear to be one of a handful in the West.
Health & Well-being Award. Veteran Group of the Year
Some of our award-winning fresh veg available in the office. Grown by Billy Gillespie BEM and his team in our veterans' garden.
Thanks to @CovenantTrust the garden is a happy place for our people.
The Airshow in Portrush takes place on 7th/8th September.
Alexa says the weather will be good with possibly a very sunny Saturday!
The MAPS volunteers will work from our tent to advise colleagues.
We will be on the green at the West Strand.
Hope to see you all there!
We've passed £2100 via JG and donations. Thanks to all. £100 funds a session for complex PTSD, the best treatment available. We're seeking the support of sponsors who believe in our cause and can make an impact. I will meet with those willing to assist.

Thank you to everyone who has made a donation.
The total so far for Brooke House has now risen to just short of £1700 which is amazing!
Colleagues deserve the best counselling services!
