One aspect of our current problems @JuliaHB1 is that we do not have a properly funded skills infrastructure. In real terms, FE Colleges are funded less now than 10 yrs ago, apprenticeships are the worst funded provision. If properly funded, the skills gap could be narrowed.
So there we have it, what we have known for years is that despite all the rhetoric from @Conservatives about the importance of skills, schools get preferential treatment over FE Colleges. Are the Tories really about levelling up opportunity? @AoC_info
🚫 FE colleges’ hopes of being exempt from VAT have been dashed again, after a Treasury minister confirmed there are no plans to change the law despite strong opposition from MPs

The rigour and gravity of Ofsted inspections is very high profile at the moment so I am really proud of my College and colleagues today as we can officially share our GOOD Ofsted grade after our January inspection 👏
@Sargon_of_Akkad I thought we were in a cost of living “crisis”, heating v eating and all that yet people will trample over each other to buy this product which isn’t essential. Bemusing.
@RHSSuffolk Well done to all, but to those that didn’t fare well, it is not the end by any means. I did not do as well as I wanted at RHS but the many non-academic skills I gained from the school equipped me to progress well in life combined with some hard work and persistence.
Great to play on stage with the @chillipipers at the @TheApexVenue last night in Bury St Edmunds. Thank you for letting us share some of your shining limelight 😊 see you next time 🏴
@NickLinford@alexburghart@nadhimzahawi@Tom_Richmond Would love to know how much un-spent Levy is sat with HM Treasury instead of being redirected to delivery of apprenticeships. Funding v expectation/obligation is very poor and making some delivery staff recruitment almost impossible
@AlexMLowe Does look more like Genghis Khan than a Celtic or Briton Chief. I think it’s the facial hair, needs to be fuller and connected or maybe just a moustache??
