(1) Messi is 39 - very close in age to Ronaldo.

(2) Both played in 6 world cups. Messi made 2 finals, won 1 and this World Cup isn’t done, so he might add more. Ronaldo has never even made a final.

It’s silly, because every sport can make that claim i.e. the NFL - the sport is so brutal on a body, that you can only play once per week. Point is, all sports (and their respective playoffs) are tough.
