WPD presented a Citizens Award to Hannaford Supermarket & Asst Manager Gary Rairdon. They've been great partners w/ us on community policing & donated much of the food that was used for our annual Thanksgiving deliveries. Thank you to Hannaford Supermarkets & Mr. Rairdon!
Congrats to our 2 newest Academy graduates, Officers Westberry & Patel! Both graduated last week from the 18-week Basic Law Enforcement Training Program. They represented WPD well at the Academy, with Officer Patel being class valedictorian.
There is a scam where someone is calling people claiming to be a "Sergeant Investigator Smith" from WPD. This is a SCAM! If you ever have questions about whether a caller is a legitimate officer don't hesitate to call our business line (207-854-0644) so we can verify it for you.

This poor young deer lost its mother to a car crash last week. Along with responding to and handling the crash, Westbrook Officers cared for the young deer at the police station until a State Wildlife Official could come down to take custody of it.

WPD is seeking help identifying this motorcycle operator. On 05/22 & 06/01 officers have attempted to stop him for high-speed & dangerous driving. On both dates the operator has failed to stop & driven dangerously to elude officers. Anyone with info is asked to contact WPD.

WPD extends condolences to the family & colleagues of Firefighter Andrew Cross who tragically lost his life last week at the devastating fire in Searsmont. We send well-wishes to the firefighters who are in the hospital. We hope that all are able to fully recover and go home soon
