[Surprise Economic Development @SurpriseEconDev]

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming our partners from the Greater Phoenix Economic Council @GPEC to Surprise for a community tour, led by Economic Development Director Jeanine Jerkovic, followed by a Lunch & Learn highlighting the incredible momentum taking place throughout our city.

The afternoon concluded at @SparkSurpriseAZ, where attendees heard presentations from City of Surprise Water Resources Management Director Michael Boule and West-MEC (@westmec) Superintendent Dr. Scott Spurgeon, who shared valuable insights into the infrastructure and workforce partnerships helping shape Surprise's future.

We were honored to have Mayor Kevin Sartor (@mayorsartor), Vice Mayor Earle Greenberg, Councilmember Patrick Duffy, City Manager Andrea Davis, and Deputy City Manager Brenden Espie join us to welcome the group and demonstrate the City's commitment to continued economic growth.

Thank you as well to our partners at Carefree Partners for joining us throughout the day. Vice President Scott Phillips shared an overview of Surprise City Center and the exciting vision for the area, while President Rick West and Business Development Manager Rico West offered additional perspective on the community's growth and development.

Career and Technical Education (CTE) is one of the most powerful strategies. #Arizona has to prepare students for both post-secondary success and meaningful careers. It is not a side program or an alternative track. It is a rigorous, standards-driven system that connects academic learning to real-world application and workforce opportunity.
Today, more than 161,000 students across Arizona participate in CTE programs. These students are enrolled in nearly 90 approved programs of study offered across 144 districts and 326 schools statewide. The scope alone reflects its importance. The outcomes prove its power.
