However, with the way he handled Salisbury, plus his policies on Trident, fence sitting on Brexit etc , he was definitely not PM material

The issue is that Corbyn was unelectable and a similar far left leader will suffer the same fate. It's clear from polls and voting trends which direction the country is leaning.

But the central issue they have always had with legal migration is the number.Before Brexit, 200k was seen as very high & under Boris it quadrupled to 1M. That's what they are still angry about.

@FinestDoveTruth It is very likely that most people didn't even know this was possible and I predict that the negative publicity this case is getting (not least due to the revelation that he is crowdfunding for his graduate visa!!!) will lead to the law being reviewed and changed (2)

@SogunroToluwase @Sikowitz17 Labour lost the Red wall and other Labour voters in the 2019 GE but managed to win them back in the 2024 GE so it's still possible- but they do have to address the reasons these voters defected
