There's a fizz of excitement around school as the Wetherby High Talent Show returns. There will be three performances throughout the day with two acts from each house competing. The first performance was outstanding and our students are not only brave but so talented too.
Our students have worked really hard to win points for their house in Venture this half term and all these points will be added together at the end of the year to hand out to the overall Venture winner. This half term, however, Robinson has been victorious.
It was a joy to see our Class of 2025 return for their reunion and certificate collection. It was lovely to hear of their next steps and how well they are doing at their post-16 providers. We were all delighted to see them and we do hope that they will stay in touch.
Yesterday, we welcomed senior citizens from the community to join us for a festive afternoon. They enjoyed tea and cakes whilst listening to our choir singing Christmas songs. Following this they joined in with Christmas bingo, rounding off the afternoon with a sing-along.
The news you have all been waiting for is finally in. The overall winners of the House Tug of War this year is Bremner. Well done to all our students who participated and made it such a fun competition.

Our Year 7's had a great time yesterday learning the essential life saving skill of CPR. They were able to practise their skills on our mannequins and were competently helped by six volunteers from the Yorkshire Ambulance Service who we thank for giving up their valuable time.
What a race! Bremner held first place for a lot of the race, eventually getting overtaken by both Trueman and Robinson despite their best efforts to fight off the competition. The final results were Trueman, Robinson, Bremner and Tomlinson. Well done to everyone who competed.
The excitement is building for the Wetherby Dash which takes place in 2 hours. Tomlinson narrowly beat Bremner last year but who will take the top spot this year?
