Grateful to the Mayor of #Leeuwarden, Sybrand van Haersma Buma, for warm welcome & engaging discussions. Also appreciate a visit to @wetsus, European centre of excellence for sustainable water technology, kindly organised by the Municipality. Great potential for ๐ฆ๐ฟ๐ณ๐ฑ cooperation.
Phosphorus recovery from pig manure: Elucidating the competition between Siderite and Vivianite. Intergation with ammonium recovery is a good option.
A step forward in P-recovery by Sophie Banke and colleagues from @wetsus and @tudelft

On October 6 & 7 we gather in Leeuwarden for two inspiring days where scientific excellence meets practical relevance in water technology. Under the theme โEfficiency in Innovationโ, the Wetsus Congress brings
magnetically.
Today, the same fingerprints of microbial life we see in wastewater treatment plants are also found in Martian rock. No need to visit Mars to see this wondrous mineral, a visit to Wetsus should suffice!
So, @NASA don't hesitate to reach out if you need a hand!
๐๐๐ฌWhere space exploration meets water technology: NASA just discovered vivianite on Marsโa mineral that forms in oxygen-free, microbial environments. To Wetsus, vivianite signals the invisible work of microbes, turning waste into value and making phosphate recovery possible
A smart choice of fermentation product can greatly increase bioplastic production from wastewater.
Excellent work by Yizhou Xing and team. @tudelft@wetsus
