Wetter West Virginia was created to give a better insight and understanding of Appalachian fishing. We hope you enjoy our perspective of WV and her waterways.
From everyone here at Wetter West Virginia we wish you tightest of lines this holiday season! From foggy mountaintops to the cool laurel creeks we hope you’ve enjoyed our journey this past year. We take pride in the content we share and hope you stay with us.

Thinking of spring time tigers and the shades of green that follow. 🐯🌱🌲
We dedicate this post to all the hardworking people at our state hatcheries and the biologists who are actively trying to make wv a better fishery! Thank you!
The Last Brookie of the Year-
Those pink spots are beginning to pop and that means spawning season for the Brook Trout. As anglers, we should take some extra care on the stream during this time of year to give these beauties the space they need for a successful spawn!
With summer heat and less than ideal water conditions here in WV we decided to give the fish a break. But we couldn’t resist and set a course for state college PA. We perfected euro nymphing at night using UV head lamps that reflected our lines. Over 4000 trout a mile!
Nothing beats starting the day with a great cup of coffee! With @AnglersCoffee we always get the most out of our early morning trips. With sustainability and quality in mind they don’t disappoint. #wetterwv#anglerscoffee
With little sleep and early morning trips planned @AnglersCoffee allows us to make the most of our day! Nothing beats sipping on the dry dropper blend while listening to the local river come alive.
At WWV we would love to see more diversity in the fly fishing world. We believe that the more people interact with nature the more they will want to protect it! Everyone should feel welcome outside. It’s where we belong!
Had the pleasure of catfishing with one of best warm water anglers in the state of WV. @addison_obrien is a pro at finding and catching big flathead catfish. We landed 4 in a day with the biggest being 23 pounds. Although this may seem big he catches 50+ pound cats regularly.
