Stats are deceiving. The LinkedIn article "Tax refunds down by 8% this year" reads like you paid more taxes. Example, 2018 refund is 12% less than 2017. BUT income is up 3.46%.

Would you rather get $138 or $2,798 more?

& this doesn't even factor TVM.
