I brought my 6-week-old son to the local bar association meeting
At this meeting, I got elected president of the association
The two were unrelated (I think)
It seems that so many moms have the same quandary: I want to be home raising my own children, but I also need freedom and time to pursue other interests or make money. The 40-hour-workweek building someone else’s dream isn’t working anymore.
I’m in the lucky yet unfortunate position of earning 2x my husband’s salary… but 3 kids later, I really would prefer to be home now (at least part time). I know this quandary was my own doing by pursuing a fancy law degree in the first place, but has anyone figured out the solution?
@ThrillaRilla369 Driving. I used to ride motorcycle and speed race everywhere. Now that I have kids, I’m absurdly paranoid.
Not to say I won’t be getting a motorcycle soon after I’m done birthing kids.
Super depressing that in season 1 of The Office, the office rioted over a health insurance plan that had no vision, no dental, and a $1200 deductible. We would celebrate that today.
How are you as a parent preparing your child for the future?
The more I read, the more anxious I become. It feels like no other parents in the history of time have had the same issues to face and prepare their kids for.
