saw someone say that “Superman is who you want to be, while Supergirl is who you actually are when life gets tough but you keep trying anyway” and i think that's really beautiful
Imagine being a country that treats women as a lesser being and was born lucky enough to have father like this. She hit the jackpot because even in countries where women have rights and power you can rarely find father's that will go above and beyond like this.
🚨SHAMELESS BLACK MIGRANT BRAGS: “I WAS IN THE MOOD” SO I SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A WOMAN
This filthy Black Eritrean invader openly admits raping a white woman because he felt like it — the same way he did it back home. He’s been here three years, known to police, and shows zero shame or remorse.
We are importing violent Black men who treat our white women like animals. Enough! Mass deportations NOW — send every last one back before more innocents suffer!
So.
Here's the thing.
I watched the Passion of the Christ when I was 13. I cried too.
But it's an empathetic response to seeing someone being hurt.
While the film is amazing, I wouldn't show it to kids.
A big issue also is while it's vastly important, it just portrays the action of Christs trial and dying. No context of why He died and that it was His choice to go through that suffering.
Without the context, it's just a man suffering for 2 hours.
The disciples didn't even understand He was giving His life willingly for the sins of mankind until His resurrection and indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Honestly, if you're a new Christian, hold off on watching the Passion until you've had some time to understand the how and why of it. And even then, understand that even it is tame to the suffering Christ went through for our sins.
A college swimmer caught red-handed assaulting an unconscious girl behind a dumpster gets sentenced to just 3 months in jail because the judge "didn't want to ruin his Olympic potential." Once again, a man's hypothetical career is worth more than a woman's actual life.
Most realistic Athena depiction that I've ever seen. She is Italian so of course the Mediterranean features are there and she has a unique bone structure too.
Here's the thing.
Cultures at that time sacrificed kids. Abraham was Babylonian, who were known to sacrifice children.
This story is God teaching Abraham a lesson. He told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac just as all every other culture did to their gods, but God stopped him to show that this is not His way and had Abraham sacrifice an animal instead. This story points forward to Jesus. Abraham stated that God would provide the sacrifice. Jesus was God sacrificing His son for us and our sins.
"wife" being the opposite of "unrapeable" confirms a lot about young men's views of marriage and its purpose that we already knew.... Men aren't lonely enough!
