We had home made chili; hand rolled hot dog buns, cinnamon rolls; only processed food was Fishstick Friday. And yes, we were ungrateful brats who did not appreciate it. :-)
Equipped to chart a bold path forward.

Notre Dame AD Pete Bevacqua: "If you truly want to maximize media value, the best way to do that would be a super league. I don't want a super league." Also says that current term of media deals could hurt leverage in negotiating a pooled agreement
I would prefer a Congress with a pulse… have the public discussion; have a vote; and unify people around the result.
Same with any war.
Congress does the President no favors being in hiding.
Don’t need court intervention, if Congress would earn its pay.
Without the pivots, one might think “best use” becomes wheat and sorghum, rather than corn and soy.
We are locked into winter crops, because it stops raining in April.
Consumers, voters, and most everyone outside of Ag are going to increasingly ask the question: Why are we depleting an aquifer -- that took thousands of years to create -- to grow corn that is so over-supplied government invents laws requiring us to burn 40% of the annual crop?
Water -- and the true economics of water -- will change Agriculture in America drastically over the next decade. Land use and cropping changes will either be economically driven or imposed by regulation. Same goes for water-intensive livestock operations.
I absolutely love the landscape and the people in areas formerly nurtured by the Ogallala Aquifer but... if I owned farm ground under irrigation there, I'd be a seller not a buyer.

I honestly feel sick every time I pull into my driveway now.
My neighbor suddenly installed this huge metal fence directly on our property line and I had absolutely NO warning it was happening. One day everything felt open and normal… the next day it looked like the entrance to a warehouse yard.
I cannot explain how drastically it changed the feel of my home.
What used to feel welcoming and open now feels cramped, cold, and boxed in. Every time I drive up, it’s like staring at a giant steel wall.
And the part that really bothers me?
Nobody said a word to me beforehand.
No conversation.
No heads up.
No “hey, just letting you know.”
Nothing.
I understand people can do what they want on their property, but when you put up something THAT massive directly affecting your neighbor’s space, wouldn’t basic courtesy tell you to at least talk to them first?
Maybe I’m overreacting, but it genuinely feels like my property changed overnight and I had zero say in it.
What would you honestly do in this situation?
