@RyanFieldABC Who's idea at WABC was it to preempt Wheel of Fortune for Knicks hype every game day? How come Jeopardy! still gets to air? Does someone at Channel 7 hate Wheel? A northern NJ contestant won big on one of the eps your Knicks specials preempted. 😔

@JoshuaX1993 @TVSportsUpdates That, plus lately, if Jeopardy! is preempted by one of their specials at 7:00, they tend to put something else on at 7:30 to preempt Wheel of Fortune. Some stations don't like to have WOF air without Jeopardy! (yet they have no problem vice versa).

@TVSportsUpdates I knew something was up when WABC had the same Wheel of Fortune repeat listed twice today, at 5 AM and 7:30. I DVR all airings and saw the one at 5 AM did air, so WABC knew they were preempting it. Not sure why no guides or the station website had Tip-Off listed.

Rick Carlisle uses a game show analogy for calling timeouts:

“It’d be great if you could buy timeouts like vowels on @WheelofFortune. Because in 3 or 4 games this year I’ve called additional timeouts.

Unlike the Wheel of Fortune where you pay $250 out of your earnings, they cost a technical free throw and possession, if the other team doesn’t already have possession.

Strategically, I’ve tried to take those when the other team has possession to lessen the penalty, but that’s an idiotic conversation.”
