@ahoy_ladies_ “Why don’t we drive around? I wouldn’t mind having a look at how things have changed since I left.” She took a bite of her ice cream and smiled. “As good as I remember.”
@ahoy_ladies_ “Yeah. It kinda does,” she sighed softly. “At least we have that sense of normalcy to hold onto. I wasn’t sure things would ever feel normal around here again.”
She took her cone and smiled. “Thanks, Steve. To the good old days, right?”
@ahoy_ladies_ “It feels like I’ve been gone for years, but it’s only been a few months,” she confided. “It’s probably because so much has happened.”
She smiled when he held the door open for her. The two of them walked up to the counter together.
@ahoy_ladies_ “Thank you , Steve. That’s really nice of you.” She fell into step beside him as they walked toward the entrance. “This place looks exactly the same,” she said with a smile.
@ahoy_ladies_ Nancy let him help her out of the car. She remembered he had done this when they were dating. There were some good memories there. It wasn’t all fighting monsters and arguments between them.
@ahoy_ladies_ “I’m ready,” she said. She looked back at him and smiled again. It felt good to be smiling like this again. She couldn’t remember the last time that happened.
@StevieHar84 “You don’t have to do that, Steve,” she protested. It was sweet, though unnecessary gesture. She didn’t want him to feel as though he had to spend money on her.
She smiled her thanks when he opened the car door and she got in.
@StevieHar84 “I am,” she said. Nancy smiled so her dimples showed.
“I’d like to do that. We haven’t seen each other in a while. It would be nice to catch up.”
@StevieHar84 Nancy nodded.
“I didn’t realize what a pain in the ass I must have been as a kid until Mike was that age and he was a pain in the ass. I would look at him and wonder if I was really that bad.” She laughed softly. “Are you happy with what you’re doing?”
