@FamyDh @Ilisoooff @CaelumPugnator We won’t make enough of them to make it cheaper than buying them internationally. Setting up an entire plant, tooling, production line, etc costs a lot of money. Than the materials and everything. Sure we can retain money inside our economy but we don’t make a lot of good steel.

@Ilisoooff @CaelumPugnator They’re not retiring the M4 from units they’re still actively being made and used. XM7 is being replaced by XM8 carbine. If we want M4s all we have to do is buy new stocks and 14.5 barrels/handguards. But given the distances of the probable combat zones we’ll be in 20’ is fine.

@bonzerbarry There’s a variety of things going into this clip. People saying “automatic engagement mode” should realize that the system would not fire every few seconds. It seems like deliberate engagement on the highest PK targets (furthest away) rather than self defense mode.

@bonzerbarry These missiles are flying towards missiles further back in the salvo. That’s evidence because you don’t see them preforming any lateral thruster movements or self destructing after they pass a ballistic missile. These are likely older PAC-3s as well that may not have HTK.

I’ve always been a fan of the UMACS “Uni charges” since it means all of our 155mm guns can use the same propellant rather than needing charges from different manufacturers.

Logistics wins wars.

@LotfiLeRif @CaelumPugnator We pay for 200-300,000 men defending a border over 2,750kms. A lot of that money is going straight into pensions and salaries and NOT direct procurement which is spent over years in our case. With funding going to one branch more for each year. ATACMS deal was tiny for our size.

@CaelumPugnator This is a good video, I used it as a reference for time on target and point of interception arguments. Someone was telling me that a supersonic Ashm missile could cover the same distance as a ballistic missile. So I used the video’s telemetry data.

@LotfiLeRif @CaelumPugnator Except unlike Azerbaijan, we don’t have oil money to spend on whatever weapons we want whenever we want. Predator Hawk was likely more affordable and offered most of the needed capabilities. In terms of long range stand off weapons for aircraft? Our military is kinda hopeless.
