We visited a Gurdwara as part of our RE topic. We learned lots about the building, the Sikh faith, links with the local community, had traditional food for dinner and a small prayer was sang for us to listen to. Huge thanks to everyone at Guru Nanak Gurdwara Sahib Walsall!

Year 5 have had a very busy day and have focussed upon gravity, the effects of air and water resistance and what effects mass can have on gravitational pull!

Today four Year 5 pupils went to @AldridgeSchool to take part in their #WorldBookDay quiz. They all had a great time meeting children from other primary schools and came back with some prizes! Thanks for the invite and well done to everyone who took part!

On Wednesday, Year 5 went to Aldridge School for a Science lesson. We looked at which materials would be the best insulators and had lots of fun conducting the investigation independently. We then got to see a thermal camera in action - thanks for having us @AldridgeScience !

On Friday, Year 5 kindly donated their spare change towards the school money trail for Children In Need.

Yesterday we continued our adventure through Alchemy Island and made a stop at the Fountain of Gold! We witnessed a chemical reaction which started slow but ended up giving the Year 5 conservatory a lovely golden sheen!

Year 5 have had a day of two halves! We held our 2 minute silence and discussed Remembrance Day. Then a drumming workshop with @jeffrich8 who showed us examples of different drums. We all got to use percussion and some of us were lucky enough to show off our skills with Jeff!

Year 5 have started this term’s topic - Alchemy Island! We had a visit from the Chief Alchemist’s apprentice who read out a riddle and left a strange box with samples from Alchemy Island, a map and a key. Year 5 worked hard to solve the riddle to find out where our quest begins!

Year 5 had a fantastic afternoon at Aldridge school doing dodgeball and cricket. As expected, their behaviour was a credit to the school.

Year 5 this afternoon were alchemists.

Yesterday afternoon we tested the samples left by the wizard last week. Each sample was from a different area of Alchemy Island.

Year 5 are busy trying to decipher the riddle.

Year 5 have had an unusual wizard visitor who left pots, a map and a riddle. The only words they spoke were, “Do not open the jars, they may be dangerous.”

Year 5 have had a great Number day with lots of different activities. Here they are solving problems this morning! Then learning their times tables this afternoon.

Today we have started a new topic in science all about Humans. We started with a quiz trying to identify each other as babies! Here are the photos!

Today we have started our new design and technology topic which is designing and making a bag.
We have drawn out our initial designs and then started to cut out the pieces.
