@AkkadSecretary I'm sure it varies abroad, but when people buy homes in the U.S., 99% of the time it's actually a bank buying it, and the homeowner pays the bank back over time (a mortgage). So the bank of course has a huge interest, before they buy the house, on whether you pay people back.

@AkkadSecretary I get what you mean but credit is important for MAJOR decisions like getting a home loan or car loan. His credit score IS pretty bad to be honest. Like chronic missed payments/sent to collections bad. That is meaningful for a bank that's weighing whether to loan him 50k.
