@RebelGirlsBook1 One more thought: I wonder if later issues of the comic explained her history & reasons for her powers? There were '30s-40s jungle movies, with powerful blonde female characters -- usually adult orphans of dead explorers, raised by witch doctors, or others, who taught them magic.

@RebelGirlsBook1 I was not alive in the early 1940s, so I am no expert. But, I think you might have unintentionally mispronounced "Fantoma".

I think the name was meant to be a play on the word "phantom". Also: she sounds a lot more intimidating, if you can hear the word "phantom" in her name.
