@Jedithtv Where you would try and get a treasure and struggle to get past an obstacle and there’s procedural generation on enemies and the area as a whole. But instead we kinda just got static zones where you press W, clicking on whatever is highlighted in your minimal. Disappointing imo
@Jedithtv I’m very much not the target demo here, but I would’ve thought after islands and their special NPC tech, warfronts, mage tower, all the mini games and secret mounts, torghast, visions, etc that blizzard would find a way to add like a legit indiana jones/tomb raider thing (1/2)
@jezal17 Wowhead and Icyveins have their own work to do, and while I'm pretty pissed about the maxroll situation, I think it's a good competition that points out a lot of pitfalls other guides can improve on. Especially on the visual front. Trying to figure out how we can provide similar
Hi, I don’t use this platform enough and I want to note I am not speaking on behalf of wowhead.
maxroll wow guides are plagiarized AI slop that copied the work of actual theorycrafters working on wowhead and icyveins guides. Actual scumbag shit and I hate it
That’s all :)
@jezal17 yeah it's a tooling/formatting issue that we've struggled with for dragonflight. I made opener and rotational images for season 1 of dragonflight but there were problems with formatting and page layouts that haven't been resolved. I'm working on getting them back for 11.0
@xerwo This is a straight up failure and insult on the part of maxroll and echo to even allow these guides to go live like this. Some of these guides were dated to early JUNE for gods sake, you guys had 2 months to cover your ass and figure it out
@xerwo any of these examples wouldn't be an issue, but after 5, 6, 7 of these in a row, all benefit of doubt is gone. And this is just from what I've seen myself through the wowhead side of things. There's almost guaranteed plenty of other examples from icyveins
@JustPongo_ I should also mention, this isn’t new for maxroll, they’ve been pumping out slop like this on the Diablo 4 side of things since the game launched, the wow guides just blew up in their face way harder
@JustPongo_ That being said, some of the guides are actually pretty good and the people working on them seem to actually care. The vast majority however is blatantly lazy copy pasting with some words changed to try and hide it
@BAEGulinnas @allyparser to be fair, SoD/Classic communities in general also tend to be way more mismanaged and chaotic than retail ones. Not that retail discords don't have their flaws either, there's shitheads everywhere
